- I have an A3000/030/25mhz. It has 2 megs chip RAM, on the motherboard
- there's another 4 megs fast RAM, and there's a SupraRAM card fully
- populated with 8 megs RAM.
-
- Anyway, I fired up SysInfo v3.15, and it lists the following concerning
- the RAM:
-
- 1) For the 2 megs chip RAM, "LOCAL PUBLIC 24BitDMA"
- 2) For the 4 megs fast RAM on the motherboard, "32BitRAM LOCAL PUBLIC"
- 3) For the SupraRAM 8 megs, "FAST RAM PUBLIC 24BitDMA"
-
- What does the "...PUBLIC 24BitDMA" mean? Is the memory not 32-bit, or is
- there something I'm missing? The chip RAM is 32-bit, so why isn't the
- others? Actually, I expected to find that the SupraRAM was only 16-bit,
- since I thought I heard about it being only 16-bit.
-
- If anyone can share some insight on this, I'd really appreciate it.
-
- Thanks.
